Bereshit Tallit
In Bereshit, in the beginning; the universe is created out of nothingness in six days. On the seventh day God rests. Adam and Eve are enticed by the serpent to eat from the forbidden fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and are banished from the Garden of Eden.
Cain and Abel are born to Adam and Eve. Their stories are told: Abel's offering to God is accepted, Cain's is rejected. Cain kills Abel and is condemned to wander the earth. Adam and Eve's descendants are traced until the time of Noah when mankind has become evil and God decides to blot out Mankind in a great flood.
Band I
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden under the tree of knowledge on a background of the first days of creation.
Translation of Hebrew (Genesis 3, 6):
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat; and she gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat."
Band II
Scene 1 and 2 Adam and Eve on their departure from the garden; Adam and Eve with their young sons, Cain and Abel.
