CARE OF ISRAELCRAFT TALLIT
Professional Dry Clean
You MUST tell dry cleaner the gold line is benzene based. If you do not, your tallit may be spoilt during indiscriminate dry cleaning.
For touch up ironing of the silk parts of the tallit, use silk iron setting. Do not use steam. Empty the iron if there is water in it as it may drip and leave a stain on the silk. Make sure your iron is clean. Put a thin piece of material between the iron and the silk. Never place iron directly on the gold line. Use a very light touch.
Use great care in ironing the back side of the silk parts of your tallit. There is a backing which is ironed onto the back side of the silk to give it body, which is sensitive to heat. You can spoil your tallit if you do not use the greatest of care. For any minor cleaning needed on cream wool blend or white polyester, before considering dry cleaning, try a spray on spot remover, following the directions carefully, and using two or three times if necessary. When brushing off the dry spot remover, use a delicate touch or a more delicate brush than the one provided with the spot remover spray.
